Appraisals

During our opening hours on Wednesdays you can have your own finds examined free of charge by telephone arrangement (contact). Minerals, rocks, meteorites, ores and other finds will be determined, as far as it is possible without any technical effort.

Written expertises for these own finds or complex examinations of them, are liable to pay costs. They are carried out after telephone agreement (contact).

The Museum of Nature - Geology is responsible for the determination of fossils, the Helms-Museum Hamburg-Harburg for the assessment of archaeological or anthropogenic finds.

The Mineralogical Museum offers authenticity examinations of precious stones, gemstones and pearls with oral or written findings for the public. These appraisals are subject to a fee and require a telephone appointment in advance (contact).

The Mineralogical Museum Hamburg does not provide appraisals!
