The Museum of Nature - Geology with its exhibition gives an insight into the important geological and paleontological research collections. Here fossils and sediments tell stories about the development of the earth and life. Highlights of the exhibition include dinosaur fossils, amber insects and prehistoric horses. The geology of Hamburg's surroundings is also featured, as are famous fossil deposits in Germany.
The exhibition provides visitors with a basic understanding of geological processes, climate change, evolution and the development of biodiversity. TheMuseum of Nature - Geology, like the Museums of Nature - Zoology and Mineralogy, has been part of the Leibniz Institute for Biodiversity Change Analysis (LIB) since July 2021.
