Glacial erratics

The very extensive collection of glacial erratics is particularly important for regional geology. It documents the expansion and catchment areas of the northern European ice sheet during the past glacial periods and contains numerous “carried along” fossils from sediments originally deposited in what is now Scandinavia. The Gesellschaft für Geschiebekunde is also involved in maintaining and recording this collection.
