Symphylans, also known as garden centipedes, are soil-dwelling arthropods without eyes and pigment. They resemble centipedes but are smaller and have a maximum of 12 legs. Roughly 200 species are known that are primarily herbivores or detritus feeders. The LIB collection is quite small and comprises four species.
