Onychophorans, or velvet worms, are an ancient phylum of invertebrates with roughly 200 described species. Velvet worms prey on other invertebrates and catch them by squirting an adhesive slime. The LIB collection comprises 21 species of which six are represented by types. More material is currently being added to the collection.
