Biodiversity Exploratories: Arachnids and ecosystem functions
Biodiversität-Exploratorien: Spinnentiere und Ökosystemprozesse
The Biodiversity Exploratories are a priority programme of the German Research Council and investigate long-term changes in several large landscapes and reserves across Germany. This project analyses interactions of several components of biodiversity and the effects of land use strategies on biodiversity and ecosystem functions. The Arachnology Department at CeNak has recently acquired the complete myriapod and arachnid collection from this Project, which is a unique and impressive time series of arthropods. This collection is currently being curated and databased for various research projects with an ecological focus.
