Western Gull: Diversity in the Nest

Same-sex pairs are not uncommon, particularly among birds. In the case of western gulls, two females sometimes form a pair. They build a nest together, breed together and raise their chicks. Homosexual pairs can also be observed among other seabirds such as albatrosses, terns and petrels.
