Giraffe: Wildly Gay

Homosexual behaviour is widespread in the animal kingdom: over 1.500 species show same-sex behaviour – from swans to orcas.

It is especially common among young male giraffes. They rub their necks against each other, sniff, lick and mount one another. Scientists suggest that this behaviour is not only about reproduction, but can also strengthen social bonds or reduce tension.

Same-sex behaviour is not a human invention – it is part of nature.
