Workshop:
Draw insects

Just imagine: Bright butterflies dance across the paper in front of you, shiny beetles take shape under your pencil and fine lines create delicate wings. You are standing in our Tiger Lounge with a sketchpad in your hand, while people from different countries and with different languages are holding their pencils next to you. In our "Drawing insect diversity" workshop, artistic creativity and intercultural exchange are on an equal footing. Participants not only learn to draw insects, but also communicate playfully across language barriers - in German, English or Portuguese.

The artists Aloa Benvenuti Fischer and Otilia Rocha Vieira teach techniques for drawing insects, while Dr Karina Lucas da Silva-Brandão, butterfly researcher at the Museum der Natur Hamburg, provides exciting insights into the biology of the species (in English and Portuguese) and establishes a link between science and art.
