NATURE WRITING FESTIVAL

The disappearance of the wilderness

In the Arctic and elsewhere

Gerhard Trommer, Birgit Lutz
A dialogue
Moderation: Reinhard Kahl

Birgit Lutz and Gerhard Trommer have explored places that people rarely go - and where the paths are still far from the beaten track. For both of them, being in the wilderness is a special part of experiencing nature, instructive and valuable. Author Birgit Lutz has taken part in several Arctic expeditions. Biologist and nature educator Gerhard Trommer has also experienced wilderness in many places, in Mexico, the USA and Norway. What is the value of wilderness - for humans and without them? And is wilderness disappearing?
