Curious complexity in the animal kingdom: How we can protect species by understanding their behaviour
Lecture with Prof. Dr. Marie Herberstein
As a behavioural ecologist, Marie Herberstein is very familiar with the multifaceted behaviours of animals. From a human perspective, some animals behave in a completely strange way - until we understand exactly how the animal species fits into the ecosystem that surrounds it. Some behaviours can make the difference between life and death, can determine whether a species survives or dies out completely. Only when we understand the greater purpose of animal behaviour can we actively support them to thrive in their environment. Only then can we sustainably protect animals and their ecosystems: By understanding how they function.
The lecture starts at 6.00 pm and will be followed by a discussion and Q&A session until around 7.30 pm.
