How do humans and nature influence one another? Six works in the exhibition ‘Forming Nature, Formed by Nature’ explore this question from different perspectives and in different regions. Each exhibit is the result of collaboration between an international team comprising one artist and one scientist.
There is also a zine – an illustrated, small-format magazine – in which the project team recounts their experiences of this unusual collaboration between science and art.
The exhibition is part of a student project that invites visitors to discover different disciplines and perspectives and to engage in dialogue with them. Over the summer, the project team took the exhibition on a tour of various districts of Hamburg and spoke to visitors on site about their relationship with nature. You can now experience the result of this exchange at the Museum of Nature.
The event is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) as part of the federal and state Excellence Strategy – EXC 2037 ‘CLICCS – Climate, Climate Change and Society’ – project number: 390683824, the Leibniz Institute for the Analysis of Biodiversity Change (LIB), the Claussen-Simon Foundation, the Alfred Toepfer Foundation F.V.S. and NUE, funded by proceeds from BINGO! – The Environmental Lottery.
