What is behind the myth of the Indians who lived in harmony with nature? Who used nature's resources prudently? What significance did and does the belief in supernatural powers have in their lives?
As part of the program accompanying the special exhibition "Indians - Lost Worlds," author Kerstin Groeper will question common clichés and describe the everyday life and spiritual world of the Lakota Indians on Tuesday, July 3, starting at 7 p.m. at the Zoological Museum Hamburg. In addition, she will read from her historical novel "The Scarlet Path".
Kerstin Groeper learned Lakota, the language of the Teton Sioux, and is an active member of an association dedicated to supporting the continuation of the Teton Sioux language and culture. She is a collaborator in the development of the Lakota Village Circle School on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
