What is brewing above the treetops of the rainforest? We'll find out at the Rainforest Conference in the Zoological Exhibition at the Museum der Natur Hamburg! Specially designed for children and young people aged between 10 and 15, we will talk about climate change, smell the scent of the forest and learn first-hand what researchers know about this exciting habitat on 14 September 2024 from 10 am. KiKA presenter Tim Gailus will lead through the varied programme.
Wearing VR goggles, we go up a research tower in the Brazilian rainforest and back down to the associated research station. There are also educational games. Environmental influencers will show how videos with everyday tips for protecting the rainforests can go viral and how to make and successfully share your own clips. There are animal exhibits from our collection from the rainforest to explore and find out what ‘rare earths’ are all about. The programme is rounded off with lively talks and discussions.
Everyone can take part both on site at the museum and via live stream from 10 am. Questions can also be put to the experts from home via live chat. Participation is free of charge in all cases and only requires registration here.
The event is a co-operation with the Abenteuer Regenwald association.
